About Ring Baltic

More than 10'000'000 chair mechanisms sold since 1942

Ring Baltic (previously known as Ring Mekanikk, Norway and Ring Chairtech, Latvia) is an independent, privately held and well-known chair mechanism manufacturer. Ring Baltic is active in the Nordic and European markets, among its customers it counts as one of the world-leading chair brands.

The company started designing and manufacturing patented torsion bar chair mechanisms in Norway back in 1942, and by now has accumulated 80 years of experience.

Extensive development of torsion bar-based chair mechanisms laid the foundation for our know-how in ergonomical principles and the importance of implementing these principles in the chair mechanisms. This philosophy still dominates RM’s approach toward furniture with a reclining or tilting motion and is appreciated by many of Europe’s most prestigious chair manufacturers.

In 2002, the company moved its manufacturing operations to Ogre, Latvia.

In 2022, the company and its chair mechanism portfolio was bought out from Norwegian FLOKK group by the management team, regaining independence. At the same time, the company was rebranded to Ring Baltic and its headquarters moved to Ogre — consolidating all company operations under one roof.

Because of the high quality of its production, extensive experience and ongoing innovation, Ring Baltic continues to be a trusted supplier of chair movement systems for the furniture, automotive, rail, defence and other industries.
